Originally Xenium Gold with Xbox v1.1 solderless adapter.
However it was "Out of Stock" and assured me the SmartXX v3 was better
Also assured me they would send te solderless adapter for Xbox v1.0-1.5
"I wish I had read these forums first".
That seems to be the unison cry I've read here and now I'm joining in the weeping and gnashing of teeth. Here is my story. It may sound like a lot of your own. This is long but I suggest you read it fully as I have included every detail of my dealings with these low lifes.
5/29/07 I browsed to xbox-modchips.com. I saw the Xenium Gold was "IN STOCK". I placed my order and also ordered the solderless adapter for Xbox v1.0-1.5. I read many good reviews about Xenium Gold and the solderless adapter. Needneed to say my order was processed and in no time flat they took my money and said it would be shipped.
6/5/07 (a WEEK later) I contact them and very nicely inquire about my order. Not too long after that (the same day) I get an eail from "Jan" stating"
"We have been waiting for our last shipment of xenium golds from the
Xodus team, sadly we have been told they will not be shipping anymore chips
out, as these have been discontinued".
Note that their website when I ordered listed Xenium as IN STOCK. I should have canceled right then, but I was swayed by their recommendation I order the SmartXX v3 instead. because it had more memory and came with more stuff. "Jan" then stated:
"[b]These chips with the v1.0-v1.5 Adapter are the same price as the
Xenium GOLD".
I decided that was fine and emailed them saying I would accept the alternate order ONLY if it came with a solderless adapter for Xbox v1.1. Here was "Jan's" reply only one day later (6/6/07):
"[color=#CC0000]Ok we will ship you the SmartXX V3 with 1.0-1.5 solderless adapter, it
also comes with a 1.6 adapter. We will email you with your tracking info when your order ships.
Thank you
Jan[/color]"
I felt good about it as they finally started responding to my emails.
6/7/2007 (12 days after my original order date):
I am emailed my tracking # and the site to go to to track it. Finally iot's on it's way...I thought.
6/8/07 I check the shipping site ad no info shows. I call the shipping company and give them my tracking #. They tell me if no infrmationshows then they have not been asked to pick up the package yet. I email "Jan" asking why they say they shipped the package, but no inforation shows.
6/10/07 Jan replies only stating that the tracking # canbe used on the shippers site to track the package. I track it again on the shipping website. No info. I called the shipping comapny again and they toldl me the same thing...no info...nothing shipped. I email "Jan" again and explain I placed my orignal order on 5/29 and it's now closing in on 3 weeks and if they ca't get me some status of the package I'm demanding a refund and reporting them as fraudulent. At this point I'm so angry I don't even bother to think to just walk away. Too bad for me.
6/11/07 I send another email this time ranting a little bit more. I typicaly don't like to be hostile, but the fire pours from my finger tips. Poor "Jan".
6/12/07 Somewhere deep inside I feel my latest rant to "Jan" may have gotten a litle personal. I decide to send an email stating I apologize for the personal rant, but I want my product. Later on that day "Jan responds with:
"We apologize for the delay in response to your email.
Your order has been shipped".
Notice on the 10th "Jan" said it shipped, and now all of a sudden after threats "Jan" says 2 days later it shipped. Hmmm... ANyway I track the package and IT SHOWED UP! At last maybe I'll get my order...maybe.
6/13/07 (16 days after my orginal order) My order shows up. I was not home and DHL didn't leave it on my porch. I leave the proper DHL paperwork to have tem leave it tomorrow. I'm pumped.
6/14/07 I dash home from work and THERE IT IS!!!!!!! I am excited. I rip open the package and begin sorting the parts. I see the mod chip, I see som of the other nick-nacks it came with. There is the software CD, there is the solderless adapter for the 1.6...but... hey wait a minute... the one item I told them they HAD to send me in order for me to agree to changing my order from the Xenium was the solderless adapter for the Xbox 1.1. Guess what. It's not there!!!!!!! I check and double check again. I readu pin themanuals and online docs to make sure the Spider can't be used on any earlier versions other ten 1.6. It seems to check out. I don't have the solderless adapter "Jan" said they'd ship (see 6/5/07 above). I email "Jan" that day and explain the situation and that I don't have the correct solderless adapter.
6/15/07 "Jan's" mind must be slipping. "Jan" responds to my email about NOT having the proper solderless adapter by sending me a link on how to install the modchip with that solderless adapter. However, "Jan" does not address the fact theydidn't ship what they promised they would.
6/16/07 (19 days after my original order) At this point I reply and demand either they overnight me the correct adapter or schedule a DHL pickup at their expense to get their chip. No reply
6/17/07 No reply
6/18/07 I email every address there is on their website, and even call their "customer service" line which states they are open 11a-5pm M-F EST. I quickly (in seconds) get shuffled off to voicemail. I leave a voicemail leaving my order # and explaining the situation and my callback #. No reply.
6/19/07-Today (3 WEEKS after my origianl order) NO reply as of yet to any of the eail addresses (of course the auto reply all responds from the same email address. Obvioulsy there is only 1 email account. I will update this if I ever hear from them again. I checked their website today and it STILL
IN SUMMARY: DO NOT Order from these JACK HOLES
A) They STILL have the Xenium Gold listed as in stock on their site. Xbox-Modchips.com is a Bait ad Switch operation for sure.
B ) THey will say anythign to get you to order what they want you to order
C) It seems tey don't have ANYTHING in stock no matter what their site says
D) Once they ship you your order (no matter how wrong or incomplete it is) they no longer give a rip about you and you may be stuck with an incomplete order and a bill for the whole thing.
