Sony Corp.'s new 40GB Playstation 3 sold out in advanced orders at retailer Amazon.com on Tues.

The new 40GB model, which includes a Blu-ray disc drive, built-in Wi-Fi, a wireless controller, and a copy of Spider-Man 3 on Blu-ray disc, will sell for $399 on Nov. 2.

Amazon began offering the product over the weekend following an announcement of the new product early last week.

Wow, just... wow!

I guess Sony finally found their price point.

In other news, looks like Best Buy in the U.S. is now offering the 60GB units [with full(ish) backwards compatibility] for $499 with a free game: "Heavenly Sword" or "LAIR"

A lot of retailers over here have been offering the 40GB model at £299 with a free game thrown in as well.
As in the other posts I have made. Time will tell if it is a long term seller.
Some others may have judged it to quickly....who knows yet?

Before you do your usual round of Trolling the PS3 section (we all know why) read the original post.
Advance orders.!! Do you understand what that means?
It means pre-orders for systems not yet released or in stock.
