I ordered an Xecuter 2.6CE awhile ago. I got it 2 days later. I just ordered an Xapter for that modchip and an Xecuter 3. Very good prices on all their products. Very helpful staff. For both orders, I've spoken with RoT in the IRC channel on EFnet, #themodchip.com. He helped me out with all the questions I had. He also filled my order quickly. Very reliable man. Excelent prices and services. I recommend!

i ordered an x2.6 and i got it 2 days later very cheap and they deliver quick i highly recomend them.

These are the same assholes from www.chipdealer.com don't deal with them unless you want damaged products that arrive 6+ weeks after you order.

Does anyone have a phone number for these guys? I ordered an Xecuter3 and a couple of xapt3rs (one for mine, and one for a buddy) last Monday, August 1, and I have not gotten so much as an email from them.

I tried to email them to ask about my order, last Wed, Aug 3, no reply yet. I tried to file a help call on their online help desk thing this past Monday, August 8, no reply.

I'm starting to worry. My credit card was charged the day I placed the order, but I have gotten nothing, not even a reply from them.

I have search the website, and the email I got from their help desk program, and no phone number... Seems a bit shady to me.

I ordered from themodchip.com on 8/7 and have had to go to the irc channel to get any answers at all. Out of stock, will be shipping soon. Then they got some bad chips in and got delayed again. Meantime NO email NO nothing regarding status, only on the irc channel when I go ask. Support icon is ALWAYS offline. They will not repond to any emails. I am dissapointed myself.

Damn I ordered an X3 and the X3 CP from this guys on 8-22-05. received an email saying the item was shipped on 8-23. Paid for 1-2 day delvery and the item hasnt arrived.
One thing this guys used USPS Priority WTF? there is no way in hell to track this shipment.

Given the History of the owner of THEMODCHIP.COM..

First.. he appreared as Hacker Hardware.. one of the first Xs sponsors.. but.. he burned ALOT of people.. alot of members got scammed.. delayed.. you name it.. it happened.

Then.. Chipdealer.. New name.. new site right? Samo samo.

Now The Modchip.com? Please. Same ROTten owner.. Same ROTten service.

Back when Hackers Hardware was an XS sponsor, we had no idea how crooked ROT was. Some of us.. had to get burned ourselves personally before we knew the truth. So, XS can be forgiven for the debacle that was Hackers Hardware and our sponsorship association with Rot.

We are alot more selective with choosing advertisers now.. and we are quicker to remove bad apples. He might claim he can't or won't afford Xs ad rates, (which are a premium.. given we are who we are.. but that really isn't an issue as he'd fail Xantium's Sponsorship Selection Policy.

We're also quicker to point out scum bag shops and cloners then we used to be.

So.. Caveat Emptor (let the Buyer Beware) as far as themodchip.com is concerned..

This is solely my opinion.. based on Experiences we've seen time and Again with everything ROT has done in the scene, and my own experiences, having been screwed by him with Hacker Hardware, and with Chipdealer.

How can Themodchip be any different? I think 2 times is enough chances to rip people off. If your opinion differs.. feel free to roll the dice. I'm sure.. like his past businesses.. that it'll probably be okay for a little while.. then we'll see the delays, then the outright lies and scams and excuses.

Take that to the bank. Unlike others.. I won't suck up to him. Free shit, does not make me like him or his site. PEople have read enough of my review to know that I'll call a spade a spade.

I recieved my order very quickly, i ordered on Thursday last week and got my product on Saturday. I ordered an X3 and X2.6 for a friend, installed them, they are working great.

those of you having problems with themodchip.com:
did you try using live help on their site?
or did you try to use their IRC channel #themodchip.com
they may not be around 24/7 (but what shop has someone around 24/7)
but there is almost always someone in the channel that can point you in the right direction to answer any questions you have about order status, how to install chips, etc.

I've placed many orders through chipdealer.com (before some asshole took over their channel and before one of their employees tried to keep one of my orders and never sent it to me when he quit working for them) other then that I've never had a problem with RoT or his employees.

My guess is the reason you see bad reviews is the happy people are happy and don't care to leave a review, the people who have to wait for an order thats on back order panic and go nuts leaving posts about how they got scammed after waiting 3 days for something that takes 2-3 days to ship anyway.

the site specifically says "Orders often ship on the same business days if ordered before 9 A.M, but can take up to 3 business days to ship . Orders out of stock can take up to 5 days to ship and preorders will ship when we receive the items. if you read the fine print you'll notice, not all orders will ship the same day you order, your order might not ship for 3 days, THEN it'll take an additional 2-3 days depending on the shipping you paid for

I have an order pending with them which I'm told shipped early this week, so (unless delayed by east coast weather) I should have by Monday.

The guys can indeed be hard to get ahold of anywhere but the IRC channel, but they are often there and willing to chat.

I'll post my experience when the order arrives, whether positive or negative. I fully expect things to be fine, but the proof is in the pudding.

And no, I'm not (despite my lack of post count) a shill for them. I just picked up my XBox two weeks ago and hence just joined here. Trust me, I'll be as quick to blast them if things aren't handled well as I will be to praise them if I get good service.

I ordered a special they have with x2.6 and programmer for 29.00. I got my order in a decent amount of time, four or five business days, but the programmer they have in the picture is the white, 2.6 programmer, I got the old green one with the adapters. It will work on the 2.6, but I specifically ordered this combo for the newest version. I submitted a ticket and it has been over 2 weeks and they have not responded, when I view the ticket, it is in "not viewed" status. Not very good support, at least I got a good deal on the chip and the programmer I didnt want.

Xecuter X3CE + black Pro Switch bundle

I'm new to the XBox world (picked up my system about a month ago), so I can't speak to whatever history the guys at TMC may have. I picked them out of the list of resellers because of their very aggressive pricing (X3CE + Pro Switch bundle for $63 with free shipping!).

Initially the order was delayed as TMC had received a defective batch of X3's and had to wait for a replacement shipment.

Then, once the X3's were back in stock, TMC notified me via e-mail that they were out of the black Pro Switches and offering to either send a crystal or green switch, or refund the cost. I got onto their IRC channel and instead asked them to send the X3 immediately and then the black Pro Switch when they received stock. X3 arrived 2 days later.

A week later I went back into the channel and asked about the Pro Switch status. Still OOS and offered either crystal or green. Said I still wanted black and would wait. At this point they offered me an upgrade to a black X3CP for a significant discount. I debated (I'd like the CP, but really don't need it). Then the owner offfered me a really sweet deal on the upgrade to make up for the delay, which I gladly accepted.

And, before someone asks, there was absolutely no quid pro quo (as in "We'll give you this upgrade if you give us a good review!") involved. It was just good service and trying to make the customer happy.

The X3CP it arrived today.

Total time, order to receiving final shipment: 3 weeks.

I must say that I'm quite satisfied with the transaction (and not just because I got an upgrade). The guys on the IRC channel were always willing to help. It probably helped that I was patient and friendly in dealing with them as well rather than screaming "Where's my *#@*~$ order!!!!"

I'd gladly order from them again. My only real complaint is that there's no clear indication on their site whether or not a given item is in stock. So I might hesitate if I really needed something on a tight schedule. Hard to beat their prices if you can afford a possible delay.

They were friendly and extremely helpful to me. I would recommend going to the IRC channel for help/support rather than e-mail.

I bought an Xapt3r and an X3 from TMC. I ordered 1-2 day shipping, and go it in 3 weeks. Grrrrr, this guy ripped me outta $25. It's not much, but hey, I'm a freshman in Highschool and too lazy/busy to get a job. His website said that the xapt3r works with a 1.6. Other sources said it did not. I decided to go with TMC's data. I should have checked XS's Webshop ratings board. Too damn bad I didn't know it existed. I emailed twice trying to get my money back or w/e. I told them that their website had supplied me with false information. Instead of getting a return email, he just changed it on the site. Luckily, I got a screenshot before he changed it. After getting no replies, I tried mailing a letter to them. No friggin' reply. IRC? No one there. I wish there was a way to take this guy to court. But
a) It's not worth $20.

c) I don't know how well this would hold up in court.

I placed an order with themodchip.com on Thursday 09/15/05. Before doing so I called their phone number (213-291-8140) to confirm I could reach someone and ask a few questions. (Currently in process of filing a fraud claim against system-mods.com, wanted to make sure from the get-go that I could reach someone.) I left a message on their line, I received a call back less than 1/2 an hour later. I believe the person I spoke with was Sean. On the phone he was professional and courteous, and also let me know that if I submitted my order soon he would be sure to get it shipped out that day. (this was around 20:00 eastern US time.) Their CC processing system seemed a little odd since it uses a 3rd party but on the whole the web store interface was simple to use. My order of two X2.6CE bundles (included programmers and free shipping) came to a very reasonable $58.00. I received my acknowledgement for order #32003 at 20:07, my shipping confirmation and USPS tracking number at 20:14. On Monday 09/19/05 I received the shipment at my door in eastern Pennsylvania. Packaging was a USPS Priority envelope within a USPS Priority paperish-plastic (some sort of poly fiber?) envelope. While I would have preferred the durability of a box the items inside were contained in separate bubble packs. Everything arrived intact. I have already used the programmers to update the BIOS on the X2 chips, no problems found and all components from programmers to switches for the chips seem to work. I am waiting for my friends to get me their Xboxes so I can actually do the installs, but from what I can see right now there are no problems with the hardware I bought. I have been very satisfied with the products and service I received and don't see any way that I could have done better for the price.

I understand that everyone has a history, and I was not aware of the posts in this forum or resellerratings.com prior to placing my order. I do not know what goes on behind the web front at themodchip and who may be there that may have caused problems or run scams in the past. What I can say is that my order which went through just a few days ago was fast, accurate, complete and left me feeling comfortable with purchasing from themodchip. I will be checking in with them first when I need any more mod products.

But because of the one bad experience I've had in the mod sales community I will probably still phone first, just to make sure.

Still haven't recieved my order 14 days after purchase. Called and left a message on Shawn's ?? voice mail, I guess the guy who the 800 number is fowarded to.

well... still waiting. never talked to anyone, never got any replies to my emails. but i did get shipping notification on 12/20/2005 and it did appear that there was a huge shortage, just a little lack of communication. 2-3 day priority has not gotten here yet though... we'll see.

My order did not go as smooth as I had imagined it would, but it did end well. I didn't visit these forums prior to placing my order, so my buying decision was made rather blindly.

When I ordered my chip, the website said that the parts were in stock (but they weren't). So I also paid the extra $10 for fast shipping thinking it would ship immediately since that is what the site led me to believe. After calling many times over the next few days, I finally talked to someone who told me that the chips were not in stock but they would ship out as soon as they got them in. He also agreed to give me the solderless adapter for free since I paid extra for shipping and I wasn't going to get my chip anytime soon. After another couple days had gone by with no ship confirmation I called again and again I was told that they didn't have stock yet, and to give it another couple days. On the 19th, I received an email saying that my order had been shipped, but no tracking number. So I did a little searching around and found the IRC channel (#themodchip.com which is not listed on the website), and someone in the IRC channel told me to contact the screen name 'ShipDpt' on AIM. Once I did, I got an immediate response and he was very helpful, giving me my tracking number as well. The person I talked to admitted that they had forgot our deal about the solderless adapter, and he agreed to send that immediately. So at this point I was just waiting for the USPS in the pre-Xmas rush.

I received my chip in great condition on 12/24. But I obviously did not have my adapter, so I installed the chip without it and it works great. I did receive the solderless adapter on 12/27 though. So they did come through as promised.

In summary, this was not the smoothest of transactions, but it did have a happy ending. I would most likely buy from them again, since I know how to get in touch with them now. After all, they are in the US and their prices are great.

I think I got burned as well. I ordered an x3 modchip from their site seeing that it was in stock and at a reasonable price. I ordered 1-2 day shipping and received the confirmation email. It has been 2 weeks after my order was processed and still no word from TMC. I have emailed them 2 or 3 times and have received no response. Their listed phone number goes straight to voice mail. The x3 chip is no longer listed on the website. I should have researched them before placing my order... and now it looks like I'm paying for it. I will never do business with the site again and hope other people will make better decisions that I did. Is there any place I can turn these people in for internet fraud?

Made purchase Saturday 3/25/06 for 1-2 day delivery, received an email on Thursday 4/6/06 reassuring that the items would ship Tuesday 4/11/06 . I've sent emails and left voice messages, but have had no response.

I did have a payment transfer issue originally (my CC statement said I was WAY overcharged), I was able to contact him on AIM and he was very helpful in getting the problem quickly resolved. (but he's only on AIM sporadically) . . . holy crap he just signed on! . . .

I ordered an Xecuter programmer from TMC. Got the best price on the web, and it shipped quick! Got it within two days via USPS.

They also answered questions I had about my order in their IRC channel, and via AIM.

First off, these guys had the lowest prices I could find for this particular modchip. Initially, when I went to order from their website, I noticed that there were some security problems, which made me leary about giving them my credit card order. So, I contacted them on AIM, and they were more than willing to help me out (accepted my payment via PayPal).

I submitted my order on Wednesday and received it today (Friday). That's a two day turnaround. You cannot beat that... especially with free shipping.

The packaging was a little on the cheap side (USPS Priority envelope containing padded envelope with all items inside), but everything seems to have arrived without any damage.

I know these guys have received quite a few negative posts, but it seems that either they have cleaned up their act or I'm one of the lucky ones.

In either case, I can't knock them... they did an excellent job. I'd recommend them.

I placed an order (order #1448) way back in August for three X3 modchips but I only received one chip. I contacted them right away and was told that they knew about the short shipment and would be sending the other 2 chips once they received more chips (I think at the time X3 mod chips were in short supply).

So when I contacted them in Sept and Oct I was told that would be getting stock soon and they would send me something extra for my troubles. Well's it's been 4 months now and still no chips. Sometime in Nov they stop responding to my emails asking for status.

They seem like nice guys but beware if your order gets messed up so how you could get screwed.

I ordered 5 chips from them the day after thanksgiving (order # 2034) to get some xmas presents going. Today december 26, I get a random email from someone who said they sent him my order in cleveland on accident.

I had been emailing and im'ing these bastards sense the first week of december, and all i get is " ships this week", or "xecuter is slow this time of year" (arent they supposed to be instock), and the last two weeks all I get is, "its been shipped, thats all I can tell you".

These guys are absolutely worthless and their shipping is waaaay overpriced to make up for the $1 they shave off their prices.

End of story 3 kids were not able to get their xbox's for xmas even though I ordered these the chips 1 month before, and this dirtball modchipstore.com has no care as long as they get their money.

My rant is done, at least until I find out what they plan to do about getting me these chips. Still not here over 1 month of crap.

Needless to say I would NEVER order from them again, or recommend anyone to buy from these overpriced (shipping) scammers with no cust service.

I ordered 2 Xecuter 3CE chips right after the new year (order #2316) and I checked the website for my status and the site is now gone. I have sent e-mails and still no response from them. I can only hope they're still shipping current orders. I'll post back any results.
