I am PROUD to be the first one to make a comment on this site. After patiently waiting for xbox-chipz to come through but to no avail I had to find another site. MODorDie was the answer to my prayers.!!! The site said they had chips in and they actually DID!! I was also surprised to see how fast they respond to email messages. They confirmed that my package was sent and I received it in "security" like packaging within 3 days. The chips were working and they were more than helpful in assisting me in all my questions.

I am almost hesitant to share how great this site is and the folks who run it. (want to keep it all to myself smile.gif )

This will continue to be my site of choice from now on out.

Good prices but very poor service.

When I ordered my items I requested them to be sent FedEx. Apparently there is not an automated feature for the additional shipping costs, so they had to email me back days later requesting that I accept the additional charges. It took them five days to finally send my package from the date of my acceptance of the charges. Overall, it was over a week from the time I ordered to the time the packages were sent.

Additionally, it took me three emails before I ever got confirmation that they had sent my package.

After all that, they still sent it to the wrong address. When you order from their website there is no automated option to have your order shipped to a different address than the billing address, so I added my requested shipping address into the comments section. It was not until this morning when I looked up my package via FedEx tracking that I found out that modordie.com sent my package to the wrong state!

I have had an interesting experience with Modordie.com They are very good with questions and modding assistance but just make sure you read the site thoroughly when dealing with specifics about shipping and repair. Their work is definetely top notch and the finished products are definite eye catchers and conversation pieces. The lights and the clear jewel are great acessories and along with a chip will keep you playing all day long. I am very happy with my modded xbox and would recommend them as an exellect choice for modding your xbox. Also, if there is a problem, they will do their best to fix/reconcile any discrepancy that ever occurs.

When you place an order it says we only offer FedEx 3 Day Air on "MoD System" Orders. If you want to upgrade your order to FedEx 3 Day Air (and you did not have an MoD System on your order) you must explain that in the comments and verify that you are authorizing an additional charge of $5.00 (so that we can upgrade your order to FedEx 3 Day Air). Secondly, we sent you several e-mails asking you if this were the case (since you explained that is what you wanted to do in the order comments, but did not verify the incurred additional charges). However, you did not respond to any of the e-mails for 2-3 Days. We got the response only 4 days later... That is why it took so long to ship out.

About the Incorrect shipping: There is most definitely an area to enter an alternate shipping address. The reason you package was originally addressed with your billing address is because one of our new tech's was accepting that order and happened to "goof". But we did contact FedEx for you and had them change the shipping address on your package (to the correct one) before it left the second check-point (therefore taking no more time then it would have if it were to leave with the correct address, originally).

Thanks, we do admit there was a bit of confusion on that order. But that is one of the first times we let an order slip (to that extent).


Keep up the good work guys; we can definitely use some activity in this forum! Good or bad, people need to know about us.

this was my first time dealing with jay and the guys at modordie.com and I must say that the experiance was awsome. my xbox arrived the other day and I was totally Impresed,the guys at modordie do top notch work, and I must all say that they kept me up to date on my order almost on a daily basis. I will definatly tell all my friends and do future buisness with these guys.

The guys at Modordie did an awesome job on my xbox and even repaired my xbox...now its running like a champ. They did a great job. I recommended them to all my friends. Fedex sucks because they didnt deliver my xbox on thursday and ended up not getting til friday but it wasnt that big of a deal it was just my own impatience. They rock...it was def worth the money...thanks guys

I could just leave it at that, but that would be wrong...their service is amazing. They catered to any service i needed and when i got it back it worked flawlsessly...inside joke between me and jay. The system is way better than it was before...and i dont regret ordering from them...i wish they had more things to sell like games and stuff, cuz they are the only company that i trust...and the one with the nicest staff. If you know me you know im not very trusting...but with this company it turned my perspective around...thanks guys!!!!

In regards to order #32.

Couldn't have been a worse experience. I asked them before placing an order if they had PS2 pre-mods in stock and ready to ship, and their response was "Yes, would you like to order one?" I placed the order an hour later for a V9/10 PS2 with DMS3 chip. A week later, I get a shipping notice, but the package didn't actually get to FedEx for another 5 days.

It got here last night, and they couldn't have possibly screwed the order up any more. It was so wrong, in fact, that I can't help but assume that it was purposeful. For starters, the system wasn't modded at all. They just tossed a chip and some wires in the box. Two, I paid for a "factory" V9/10 PS2, and that's definitely not what I got. I got an old V7 PS2 with a broken warranty seal, and a fan that was completely clogged with dust. Three, they didn't even give me the DMS3 that I paid for. I got a Duo2 instead.

Upon contacting them, they intially tried to pass it off as an error on my part. They even tried to charge me a 10% restocking fee. It wasn't until I threatened to involve my credit card company that I was offered a full refund. The PS2 was mailed back this morning, but, frankly, I expect I'll have to file a chargeback, anyway. These people have proven themselves to be completely untrustworthy, as far as I'm concerned.

Ordered a Crystal case and controller late on Thursday. Shipped Friday. Received Wednesday.
Only complaint is that the dvd door was loose in the box and could have came out easy.
If i had the $$ I'd buy 10 more!

After my business with modordie, I felt all warm and fuzzy inside. I thought to myself, "Why not name it serviceordie, for it is obviously was they specialize in." I was proud of myself for coming up with a new name for the company. However, soon I began to realize what they were going for in naming the company modordie. These guys honestly just want to help people get their consoles modded for the lowest price. They did this for me and if you give them the chance I'm sure they'll do it for you. They provided me with what I needed to restore a broken xbox that I bought at a pawn shop for $3 (with tax). It is now not just a fully functional xbox thanks to ModOrDie. I hope you can find a way to allow them to help you out, too.

Here are the facts: What I ordered was a "factory" PS2 with a V9/10 DMS3 chip. Why would I have expected anything but a V9/10 PS2 from that? I got an old dusty V7 PS2, with a modchip that sells for cheaper than the one I ordered. By your own admission, you switched the DMS that I ordered for the cheaper Duo2 without contacting me first. That's bait and switch. As far as shipping in a timely manner, the package didn't enter FedEx's hands until five days after I received shipping notice, and that was a week after the order was placed. That's not a big deal, really, but I wouldn't call it "timely." In contrast, I ordered another pre-modded system from another site, that I won't mention here because they don't offer Xbox services, and they shipped it out same-day.

My only issue now is whether I'm going to have my money refunded without involving my credit card company. Despite your insistance to the contrary, the blame for this situation doesn't lie with me at all. All I want is my money refunded, in full, and I certainly don't expect to be charged the 10% restocking fee that Mike informed me of. Once I get my money back, I'll consider the matter satisfactorily concluded, and I'll post here stating as much.

I have been an installer for almost 2 years now and have always used the same modchip supplier. Unfortunetely they ran out of stock of my chips and I was forced to go elsewhere. I looked around for quite a while and finally settled on modordie after a couple of emails. They were very quick to respond and very professional. I ordered my chips on Friday and got them on Tuesday. Flashed and tested them and they all work perfectly. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

These guys know what they are doing - I got exactly what I paid for - everything works. Although, there was some confusion on what I was sending along with the broken xbox for repair and what should've been sent back. I think that in the future an itemized detailed written list of what services are purchased and what items the buyer is sending and what needs to be returned to the sender (buyer) would be great. A simple confirmation of everything (not just costs) in an email would do. Keep up the good work!

the best site out there jay is great very nice. I asked him for a stock xb with just pin header install and he says YES. I ask 3 other site they sayed no one did say yes but was asking tomuch for it. Jay has to rebuild the lpc and pur the pin header in with a d0 all for 29.99.

I think thats a great deal iam very happy with my order. I will also be getting the x3 from him when it's out. might get a cool nes case from him also.

I bought a moded Xbox from ModorDie.com about 4 to 5 months ago and to this day I still can't get my friends to shut up about how amazing my system is. I'll write up a full review later on, but if anyone is thinking about buying from them stop thinking and do it.

these guys are professional! mike and jay helped each other just to facilitate my order! the chromed case is awesome! eventhough there are a few imperfections, as what they showed me thru pictures, it is still in very good, and considering the discount they gave me! cheap shipping charges too. cheers! beerchug.gif

Friendly and Fast is how I'd describe the folks at Modordie. I had ordered a pricy box from ** SAME SHIT, NEW WAY OF TYPING IT ** and after waiting a couple of weeks, I contacted the folks at modordie to find out how long it would take to do a pre-mod box similar to the one I had ordered from CMS. In the course of an afternoon, I spoke with Jay several times and he assured me it would take 2-3 days to build and ship. He also offered to chat on MSN about any questions I had. My order was indeed shipped within 3 days and they added a couple of things onto it (LCD's) that I didnt order for free.

Got the box in and the chip didn't appear to be working (ie couldn't pull up the cromwell bios). I know nothing about the guts of an Xbox so emailed ModorDie on a Friday night, asking for some help - they responded on Friday and emailed back and forth with me on Saturday, trying to determine the problem. Mike tried to help as much as he could and made some suggestions. ALso, they said if I needed to send it back, it wasn't going to be a problem. Then started talking back and forth with Steve on Monday and he asked me to send him some jpgs of the inside of my box, so he could try to figure out what the problem was. Turned out, the problem was me - the chip had come unplugged in shipping and I didn't realize where it needed to be plugged in. Once the chip got plugged back in, everything worked perfect. Plus, the guys didn't make me feel like a complete retard for not realizing the problem.

In all fairness, the only issue I had with my order was it was not packaged very well - basically an Xbox with brown paper- they need to invest in bigger boxes w/ peanut thingies- I'm assuming the chip popped off during shipping as no doubt it was jostled quite a bit by fedex.

Oh and something I didnt avail myself of but they custom paint Xboxs and they look really really sweet. If you're interested in having an Xbox that stands out, they have a number of painting options, all of which really do look very nice.

Tech support was great and I felt like if I had to return the box because of a problem, they wouldnt hassle me for doing so

Need a little better packaging to keep Xbox safe during shipping.

Overall, very good experience and good price. More importantly, they gave me an estimate on how long it would take to build and ship the new box and they actually finished earlier then I expected. If you're in need of a modded box, I would definately recommend giving ModorDie a whirl.

I just ordered an X3 premod form these guys and I am very happy with it. I shopped around and they had by far the best prices on premods. And they also don't tack on extra $$ in shipping. I preordered it back in August and it shipped the week theat the X3's hit us retailers. Everything works fine and I would higly recommend them to anyone thinking about getting a premod, or any mod job done to their system.

I was a bit thrown off by the shipping packageing, brown paper over Xbox box, but that is a much better way to ship the Xbox than putting the console in a box with peanuts.

Let me start of by saying that if you want a premod these guys are THE BEST**

Customer Service - I entered in a wrong adress for shipping and when i saw it in the invoice i started panicking, i sent them some emails about it and recieved a reply the same day. They are very helpful and dont make u look like a dumbass and dont try to rush you like some other resellers do

Quality Of The Premod- they did an awesome job on it, my only problem was that the dvd drive came in a little messed up, but i guess that that isnt thier fault it is the fault of the gay fedex dry.gif .


Shipping - I personally dont like fedex but if i had to rate how fast they did my premod id give em a 11 outta 10. I requested the premod to be pushed ahead of the line because i needed it quick and they actually did that for me laugh.gif


Pricing - They install the modchip for FREE, The modchip price was great too.


Overall Score - 4.8 outta 5

I would definately recomend ModorDie to anyone looking for an xbox modchip, or xbox related item. They stock a large number of parts and accessories and only stock the best, xecuter, modchips. Customer service is great. I sent a question through e-mail and recieved an answer the next day. These guys are good! Pre-Ordered a custom modded xbox with the new X3 chip. As soon as they received the X3 chips, I received an email letting me know production on the box has began. From then on out, I had almost daily contact with them, they even called me a few times, just to let me know all is going good. One time they called they said there was a problem with the blue paint and they would like to redo it. The paint has to cure, and the temp dropped in New York drastically one night, which affected the paint. He put up a link for me to check out the paint job, with several pics. I looked it over and I saw nothing wrong at all. I called Jay back and told him it looks good to me, nothing wrong at all. Well, since it wasnt up to there standards...which must be really HIGH, he gave me half off on the paint job. These guys are perfectionists.

I received the custom xbox a few days ago, and I carefully inspected the paint......looks perfect, nothing wrong at all. I'm very very very pleased with the xbox and the service.

Bottom Line....If you want to order a custom xbox from a company that is trusted and know what they are doing, this is the place. They offer great service, fast shipping times and they are perfectionists so you know your xbox will be PERFECT!

Without a doubt....this is the only place I will goto in the future!

Stop reading this and go order a custom box from them NOW, you won't be sorry!!!

10/25 - Placed order via website. x3 premod, 160gb hd upgrade, blue led, jewel install.

10/26 - Jay from Modordie called my CELLPHONE to let me know the jewel I had specified wasn't in stock. He used a phone, unheard of!!

10/27 - Modordie emails me with suggested replacement jewel and includes a free one just in case I didn't like the one they selected for me (I had them just pick one on my direction). They ship that day.

11/1 - Recv'd xbox, everything works great. Couldn't be happier.

I couldn't be happier with my box!

I ordered a premodded X3 machine with a 250GB hard drive from MoD on Thursday and got my box today (Wednesday). Jay was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions I had. They were very accomodating--I wanted to change something about my order on Saturday; it was done within an hour of my request.

The LED mods are great! They did a very professional install. The box doesn't have a scratch on it. The hard drive is preformatted and works flawlessly whether the mod chip is on or off.

I had heard complaints about the shipping methods they used, a paper wrapped OEM box, but mine came in a well-padded container.

All in all, I couldn't be happier with my order. I'd refer anyone to MoD, and can't wait until they come out with their clear case!

Edit: SO today, Nov 17th I got my package. At first I looked at the box and said "waoh, what has the box gone through..." some of the tape that was used had come off and it was being held by like a single strand of tape. I initially thought that I would get the Original Xbox box with the package, but as soon as i opened the package, all i got was the xbox, controller, and all the essential, and that was it. Its no big deal, its just the box would of been nice. Anywho, I plugged it to my TV and when i looked at the info, I noticed that it was a thompson drive. Initally, i thought that the drive would have a philips, since i recieved an email stating that all stock systems would be philips. Here is the email that i have recieved from them about the DVD rom drive before i purchased it from them.

"All systems are brand new. There is no guarantee on the version you will
receive.

Standard systems come, stock with a Philips DVD drive. You can choose the
DVD Drive Upgrade to change.

So I thought hey, i'm not gonna get a thompson drive, i'm gonna get a philips drive because it comes stock. Unfortunately, i got the thompson. Other than that, thats all I have to say because its a great machine with all of the components of a terrific Xbox mod well done. 8/10

I recently had an order through MoD and it was great. I do some modding on the side and I was real busy lately and they will(in most cases) install the chip for you free of charge. All the other mod dealers charge on average $40. During their testing of the system they also found that the HDD needed repaired for the xbox to boot. I knew this but its nice to know that they check your system to be sure that its going to work. These guys are great and I will only buy from MoD b/c they have great custom service, a ton of knowledge, and they sell Xecuters.

I ordered an X3 with 160gb drive box from ModOrDie and got it in 5 days. I did have a little problem when I started out but it was my fault and they helped me out. It works like a charm and my only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. I’m already using it as my media center and couldn’t be happier.

We buy systems wholesale [they all come in one BIG box - no individual boxes like in the stores...] If you want a new, stock Box… JUST ASK, we are about the nicest guys in the world when it comes to mundane requests like that wink.gif

Also, do you know how much of a pain in the butt it would be to make sure each ‘standard’ system shipped with a Philips drive? Trust me; for the amount of systems we do each day, it would not be cost-effective for our customers or for MoD. BUT we do offer you the choice of upgrading to either a Samsung or Thompson DVD Drive. This is because both of these drives cost a bit more to buy 'stand alone' and they read lower quality and more types of disks. So, when you received the Thompson’s instead of the Philips, we were actually doing you a favor... hmm... I don’t understand why you would take that as negative? About 95% of all Xbox MoDer’s would GLADLY take the Thompson over the Philips... We actually did you a favor wink.gif

About the shipping, we really do a good job with ALL of our packaging. Everything is sealed in a secure box with MAXIMUM air-baggage + foam peanuts… wink.gif
FedEx tends to be a bit rough with our stuff from time to time and I have witnessed this first hand by seeing those same packages come back to us for repairs, upgrades, etc. And the box looked EXACTLY like you just explained. At this time we are putting more FRAGILE Stickers, etc. on the box to further assist those “dim-witted delivery guys” in judging which packages to drop or throw against the wall ; )

you can alway EMAIL US about that stuff as opposed to writing a review before we get a chance to evaluate the situation.

all you had to do was shoot us over and email and maybe send us a picture of whats wrong, and we would have sent you a "few" [emphasis on FEW] different replacements for getting a scratched jewel ; [

really sorry about that though!

just email and reinforcements will be on the way ; ]

FedEx tends to be a bit rough with our stuff from time to time and I have witnessed this first hand by seeing those same packages come back to us for repairs, upgrades, etc. And the box looked EXACTLY like you just explained.
