Uh oh. It was via xbox-scene that I ordered from modwhiz during the Spring of this year for a few chips for the XBOX. No problems. Took a little longer than I was comfortable with but I did get my chips. Now, last week, being a previously satisfied customer... I ordered a couple more chips but this time for the PS2. Hmmm, got an instant email notification that my order was processed. Got an order number. Saw the charge immediately posted to my CC. Here I am a week later (granted, not a lot of time) and no response from the company.

A few days ago I sent an email asking for status on my order, specifically a tracking number via FedEx. Silence. Every time I call there's no answer. Anytime I go to their website there is never a live operator available. I even opened a ticket on their Help(less) Desk. Now that I'm using GAIM I see that modwhizdotcom is logged in. Sound familar? They've been logged in for over 3 hours, they're NOT idle and they're not responding to my notification. I too have a bad feeling about my transaction. grr.gif

Same here guys, I ordered (order# 4411) several items approximately 1 month ago and nothing!!!! I have attempted to contact someone several times, and no response.

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with these people? Are they still in business? I guess the only step remaining is to get the credit card company involved then purchase from another vendor.

I am struggling to get some type of response other than an automated response. My purchase that was "processed" by Modwhiz on 11-18-2005 has still not been recieved by me. I purchased two Xecuter 3 CE w/ LPC Rebuilds on order number 4490. Info is repeated at bottom (copied directly from my invoice). I have registered and used the new help desk system, called the phone number listed on the website during the proper hours, and recently tried to contact Modwhiz on IRC. I have gotten only an automated response from the help desk and an automated invoice. I have yet to receive any information related to my order being shipped. The web site states all orders are shipped 24 hours after they are "processed". I am not here to bash the company, I would just like a response as to why Modwhiz has my money and I have no product.

I placed an order on 11/16/05 and you charged my credit card. You sent me an order confirmation but have not received any Fed Ex tracking number or shipping confirmation. It is now 12/9/05, and you won't answer the phone or respond to any of the numerous emails I have sent.

What happened to modwhiz?

I've placed about 5 orders with them. The service has gotten increasing worse each time. My first order was for a qoob and black gc case. I got an email right after I placed my order telling me that the black case was out of stock but they'd upgrade me to the smoke black case for free. The box shipped the next day. It was a great experience. My next order was for a single dms4. It shipped the next day, I had it in my hands the day after that. Once again, great service. About three weeks ago I bought a single Xenium ICE chip. This was the first time I didn't get a tracking number. I emailed them (shipping@modwhiz.com) and got no response. Fortunately, the chip came quickly (ordered on Monday and it came Friday). One weird mix up I wasn't happy about was it contained the wrong packing slip, so I had someone else's invoice (their address, email address, items, no cc# at least). I understand that these types of mistakes happen when dealing with a large number of hand-packed items. I mentioned the wrong slip to them and they apologized, so no big deal.

Next came order 4626. I placed this order on November 29th. The order is exactly the same as my last one (a single Xenium ICE chip shipped overnight). I've created tickets in their help system, I've written emails, I've tried calling (ring, ring, ring...forever). Now it's very likely that the chip is simply out of stock. That wouldn't be a big deal if someone would respond to me. I'd just cancel my order and get one from somewhere else or order a different chip. Waiting forever is getting frustrating. The box I'm modding isn't mine and it's been sitting disassembled on my table for two weeks hoping "today is the day" but it so far hasn't been. If I don't get a package or response from them by next week, it's time to call the credit card company.

This form post is my latest attempt to figure out exactly what's happened to my order, to commiserate, and to let people know that modwhiz is having some "difficulty" with order fulfillment right now. Having read a lot of the recent posts here, I know I'm not the only one and I haven't waited the longest. I guess our best hope is that old Tony there at modwhiz hires an assistant.

I have been dealing with the same thing also. I ordered an Xecuter CE on 11/17 and, all I have recieved was an invoice saying processed. And it is now 12/12 and i have not been able to get in touch with anyone affiliated to Modwhiz.

Hmmm....I was about to post that I thought I was in the same boat as everyone else. I placed my order on Dec 1 for an AladdinXT (order # 4648). Tried emailing, no response. Tried phoning, just rings and rings. However, I just phoned again a minute ago and someone actually answered! I was told my order was being sent out today so I should have it in a day or two (I'm in Ontario so the shipping shouldn't take long). He said they'd been backed up for the last while but are getting caught up now. I guess I'll know if that's BS or not in a couple of days. So, to the rest of you who are still waiting try giving them a call now - things may be back on track.

I'll post back if I actually receive my modchip in the next couple of days. Good luck to everyone else!

I got tired of waiting. I just called my credit card company and there going to get my money back. The only bad part is they will need to re-issue me a new card. Goodbye forever Modwhiz. I hope other people that feel ripped off for shipping and or not receiving a courtesy response will do the same thing and order from elsewhere. Thanks for the posts.

They must still be in business, or at least have the ability to take our money! mad.gif I ordered a faceplate and chip on 12/7 (#4703) and I'm in the same boat as everyone else. No tracking number, no respose to email or pearl desk and nobody answers the phone. But my credit card is 150 bucks heavier now with nothing to show for it. Lets hope that grog 54321 is not getting the run around and we will actually see some results soon.

Now I'm pissed. My order was supposedly being shipped on Tuesday (he said they ship all their domestic orders on Tuesdays, international on Thursdays). Well, it's been two days since then and I'm in the Toronto area so the max it would take to arrive is two days. So he basically lied right to me. If my order doesn't magically show up tomorrow I'm calling my credit card company.

I recommend that people do not hesitate to do the following (assuming you have any outstanding issues with them..)

Send them Email, Call them, etc.. and attempt yet again to get some answers..

Contact your CC company or Paypal. Reverse those charges.. do not wait one more day. Sometimes Time is important.. sooner the better..

And possibly, contact your local authorites. Maybe the authorities of the shop in question as well. Fruad is a big deal. Fruad using the internet is no less a crime.

We don'thave all the facts as of yet.. but since they haven't been forthcoming with answers.. these is how we're forced to brand them.

I hope people get the satisfaction they deserve. No one deserves to get ripped off.

i ordered on october 24th and have had no response any which way.

i called my cc company to reverse charges yesterday and it is currently being done and i should have my money back soon.

once again contact paypal or your credit card company now!

i gues in their favor, i finally got a response from modwhiz regarding and order made about 2 weeks ago, claiming that they will be shipping it soon, and that they have lost their shipping staff and are inundated. I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that they will come through in the next few days before calling visa and reporting the charages as fraudelent.

With that said, theyre service is truly horrendous. But i dont think theyre outright theieves. I have ordered from the along with several of my friends in that past, and they were quite good back then. Even sending my firend a replacement for a broken chip quite quickly.

I am actually a recent purchaser of modwhiz.

i aim at this point to share with you my purchase and coomuncation history with modwhiz, as i actually got my product and had direct cummuncations with modwhiz. as to not bore you....DO NOT ORDER FROM MODWHIZ!~!~~~!#$@#%$@#$%^ I got my product, be it was almost 2 weeks late. and scores and score s of other buyers have not received any items, even after spending hundreds of dollars with him.

I paid via PayPal back on 11/29 and last week filled out a dispute form. Seeing that my funds were instantly deducted from my account on PayPal... we'll see if they support my claim and refund my money. They say to give them 45 (!) business days to fix the problem. If there are others here who paid via PayPal hopefully they'll understand the urgency of fixing our accounts.

If i EVER get the power supply that i ordered from Modwhiz, I'm most likely never going to order from there again. Terrible service. I mean yeah, i ordered through the Christmas season, but it's been almost a FULL week and i ordered overnight shipping. I ordered the 22nd and its the 28th now. I want to know what the hell is going on mad.gif . Modwhiz isn't answering calls or their help board. If you can help at all, send me an email at casey_bedford@hotmail.com. Is a power supply for a broken XBox too much to ask for?

I concur that you should AVOID this dealer at all costs! I ordered $200 worth of stuff with next day shipping a month ago, no response until I posted my third Priority 1 help desk ticket. Was told "we lost our shipping dept and should be backfilling orders. Expect confirmation in 24 hours". That was 13 days ago.

I just got my credit card bill and I'm writing tonight to dispute the charges... run away!

What sucks is that I only ordered from them because of the positive reviews in these forums.

I filed a report against modwhiz.com, but doubt it will do any good in the long run.

Their perl desk system isn't being replied to either. Well I guess I should at least try and call the cc company. Bunch of scammers...

Okay based on the good things I heard of modwhiz I went there to buy a GC case... I ordered it on the 16th of Decemeber. and I have not gotten an email telling me the status of my transaction... I got one that confirmed what I purchased. Nothing about shipment, or any of that. I go on the main page to find a warning saying something to the effect of 'Our email servers are down - we have switched to a help desk method." So I went there, signed in, and left a request for my status... still nothing. I have had it up for ten days waiting for a response - and it hasn't even been looked at!

No communication with customers, while you already have the customer's money... is not a fair transaction whatsoever.

Since I have no way of communicating with you:

ModWhiz, fix this please. It's been 15 days... My order number is #4800.

I having the same problem with modwhiz. I had order a ps2 case on Dec. 16,2005 overnight shipping.Oow it's been 2 or 3 weeks but nothing. Tried emailing,calling and even tried the help desk but no answers, but they did take my money.it's the same thing no tracking # or nothing has been sent to me. everytime I go to there website it just says my orders been processed but they don't show me no tracking # in the box>
Has anyone been able to get there money back yet please let me what u had to do.

I have been more than patient with these people and it seems as if they don't care about the customer. I call a phone that seems not to work, I use email that seems not to have a user behind the screen name and I have tried the IRC program to contact modwhiz.....WTF? I make ok money I'm sure the majority of us do but we sure don’t like to give it away to some BS charity that is ripping people a new one each and every day. All I want is a response for Christ sake!!!!!!! grr.gif Modwhiz come on now.....what is the deal????, what's with the bad customer service and on top of that I have wasted 5 minutes out of my life filling out the information to get on the help desk system...(oh and by the way that doesn’t work either). You need to either close the website or give people there money back. This is insane that every 3 to 4 people on this forum are saying that this website sucks A@#. If you need help with the general set up of your operation ask....there are more than enough qualified people that can assist you in running a website. Most people that are on this site can very easily cause your website damage or make things extremely difficult for you, I'm not suggesting that anyone do this but your site should be very careful about pissing of the mod community, things could get ugly in a hurry. MOST IF NOT ALL HACKERS HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO!!!! I placed an order on 12/12, paid for overnite shipping. After not getting a tracking number after a few days I tried calling, email and the helpdesk. 2 weeks ago I got a message from the helpdesk saying they lost the shipping department and my request to cancel the order was forwarded to the management. I called my bank and they are going to reverse the charge, they had tried calling the number on the transaction, and they said it was out of service.

I have sent a abuse report to the isp that is responsible for that IP the site uses, but they are dragging their feet. send abuse reports to

Like everyone else, I also had a horrible experience ordering from modwhiz. I ordered a dms pro chip on 12/16/05. The chip never came. I have reversed the charge to my CC and would recommend that anyone else who has ordered from them do the same. I tried contacting them several times to no avail. I've received orders from modwhiz in the past w/ no problem but due to my latest experience, I will NEVER order from them again and will continue to warn others about this awful company.

I should have done more research on these guys, but on the surface everything appeared great. When I noticed their website was down today and still no tracking number provided to me I thought I would do some of my own research and found my way here...much to my shock I wasn't alone.

I went with ModWhiz because they were the only guys carrying the Xenium modchip, and I really didn't want to wait for the other guys to get their orders in.

Yep, Bought in October, UPS delevered it to them on 10/28/05 and here it
is Febuary 16 and NADA, ZIP, Zero, Ziltch.

Got Emails from Tony stating they lost thier shipping Dept. (Bob must
have Left) and in Nov Tony emailed me saying I would receive my tracking #
in 24 hour. Looooonnngg 24 hours unless your using alpha centuarian time.

Site was down prior(first of the year) and that got me worried but it came
back up. They said they were not taking any new orders for a week so they
could "catch up on back orders" Two weeks later the same msg was still there.

All I asked was a little communication. and my stuff back in working order,
preferably with the work done or a refund. Cant help thinging the time the
site was down they were packing up. Only thing keeping me from going there is
a 12 hour drive one way.

Figured I'd do up a gamecube to try a couple of things with. Well Modwiz never shipped, never responded to a single email, ignored every single phone call, ignored msn's heck they ignored IRC. These guys are scum bags, they took my money and gave me nothing in return not even a song and dance.

Don't make the mistake I made, these guys are scum and it doesn't matter if its xbox components or gamecube components they will rip you off.

To the scum bags at modwiz.com. Please fullfill your legal requirements and ship the products paid for.
