What is going on with this place?? We RMA'd a modchip 2 months ago and never got anything back. We have sent countless emails without any reply. What can I do about this?? Its frustrating.... mad.gif

I ordered the chip 7 days ago and still do not even have a tracking number. I have e-mailed modwhiz.com's sales and shipping departments multiple times and have not gotten any responses. The chip should be here by now as I chose 2-5 day shipping. Instead, I don't even have any idea if my order has been processed. The only thing I know is that Payzip has charged my credit card. I am very dissatisfied with modwhiz for their failure to respond to any of my multiple e-mails and more importantly, to deliver my purchase on time. If I don't receive the chip by tomorrow night I plan to call Visa and dispute the charge. Where the hell is my damn chip....am I being too rash?

I am not happy mad.gif with my shopping experience at Modwhiz.com. I placed my order last Tuesday night with overnight shipping, 7 days later I still haven't recieved my chip. I've sent three emails now to get a status of my order with no response at all. The reason why I placed my order with them because they stated 24hr shipping time on the sits and because of the positive feedback on this forum... Guess I should have read all the posts. The least they can do is let me know what is going on, now I feel like I'm gettting ripped off.

To all ModWhiz.com Customers,

We would like to take a moment and let everyone what happened to ModWhiz.com in the last couple of months.

Unfortunately we ran into several major problems since the beginning of August 2004 and have had several customers who were left un-satisfied with our service.

In early August 2004 with no warning our credit card processor mypaysystems.com shut off hundreds of merchants accounts due to problems on their end with their acquiring bank leaving them with no way to accept payments & continue on with their business. Furthermore, payments were not disbursed and held back for the last couple of weeks of sales. To this day, almost 4 months later we still have not received the funds and have undertaken legal action to obtain the funds owed to us.

After the mypaysystems.com fiasco we decided to go with a new company offering similar services which turned out to be a nightmare. This company was located in Asia and assured us they could service us just as well as mypaysystems.com prior to their demise. Unfortunately, this was not the case and many orders that were processed through this new payment company were marked as refused/declined yet were paid. This led to several clients that were left in the dark by us because we had no access to our account after awhile. From what we have gathered from customers they did refund them and charged us according. These are mostly the clients that have had trouble in the last 6 weeks or so.

We have now switched over to a REAL full fledged merchant account with no companies in the middle handling our credit card processing as it is done securely on our own 128bit Secure Server (SSL) directly with our acquiring bank. This new gateway has been very good so far and we are very pleased.

We would like to extend a great thank you to all our loyal customers that have stood by us in this troublesome time.

For all customers who were un-intentionally harmed during this fiasco, we'd like to apologize and welcome you to contact our customer service department via the live help button on our web page or through email so we can make sure you were properly taken care of.

We have now opened our new warehouse/shipping location and are once again pleased to offer shipping in North America the same day (2pm EST. cutoff) and are offering our great overnight shipping at the standard $15.00 US rate to anywhere in North America and guarantee your shipment will be there the next day.

I would like to share my experience with modwhiz.com

I ordered three Xenium ICE chips with overnight shipping. The next day the fedex envelope was waiting for me when I came home! I was first surprised, then angry to find that only one chip was shipped to me.

I immediately emailed the sales department. I tried to use the online customer support tool but couldn't seem to find an available customer service rep. The next day I finally was able to chat with someone online, and they let me know that they had made a mistake, that they were aware of it, and that my two remaining chips were being sent overnight. The next day that familiar fedex envelope was waiting for me again.

I have read some negative experiences with modwhiz, but when faced with a mistake/problem like mine, they came through perfectly. Thanks modwhiz!!!

Second time ordering through ModWhiz. and no complaints here... Ordered 5 Xenium Ice Chips and overnight shipping on late monday and recieved them on wednesday. Everything intact. Tested 3 of the 5 chips and they work perfectly. Just havent gotten around to testing the other two. I will only use modwhiz now. Good job modwhiz

I ordered a chip on 23 December seeing that they stillguaranteed Christmas delivery. I didn't expect it to show on the 24th and I was right. No problem I figure, though I paid the overnight charges. I figured it would arrive on the 27th but it's still not here and any attempt to contact modwhiz for a tracking number has failed. sad.gif If your out there please contact me. Do I get a reimbersment for shipping since it was "Guaranteed"?

I too had similar problems recently. I have ordered from them previously with no problems. This time I had ordered 3 Ice chips and 3 regular Xeniums, each with solderless adapters. I got all the adapters, but only the 3 regular Xeniums, no ICE chips. I've tried to contact them (the online help NEVER works) thru email a few times and they never respond. I also tried the phone number listed and I can never get it to work. I don't understand what is going on here as I have ordered over 20 chips from them in the past with no problems whatsoever.

My chip arrived the 28th December installed and running great. I still have not heard from them. I would like a credit or something for the late shipment. dry.gif I forgot the order number in my original post, it is 247.

Dunno whats goin on, ordered on monday for overnight delviery order #343... now friday still havn't recieved box or tracking number... Called countless times to get no awnser and no reply to my voice messages... Tech support chat never works... Emailed thru three different providers and to 3 modwhiz accounts and still no tracking number or reply... Found modwhiz on irc on tuesday said it would be overnighted that night.. still no box or tracknumber :[

ok now i am gettin aggravated more emails more phone calls.. after bout the 100th call I found out that the number listed on web site is now forwarded to another line of some lady who knew nothing of modwhiz.....

I ordered a pre-modded Xbox from Modwiz. On the web page it say's that you get a brand new xbox never used or rebuilt.

Well the one I got was ver 1.0 and looked like it had been used for at least a year. Not to mention it came in a rebuilt box from MS.

False advertising and no return emails...

Sounds like this is now the norm for this group.

That's okay though, I have since ordered three new systems,

Like to retract my previous posts... Spoke w/ modwhiz was very nice and explained to me how they were having some issues w/ shipping. Overall satisfied, i jumped too fast not thinking they could be having some issues not in there control.

I posted how I had some problems with modwhiz. I couldn't get ahold of them until finally last week. I actually got their online tech support thingie working! I told them my problem (only 3 out of the 6 chips shipped, and one didn't work). They went ahead and sent me 4 more brand new ICE chips, even though the defective one was a regular Xenium! It took a few days even though they said they'd overnight them, but there's no complaints from me anymore. I'm happy with modwhiz.com and everything turned out better than I expected. I will order from them again. I don't think I will use the overnight service however.

Ordered 5 Xenium Ice chips on Jan 7th 2005 to be shipped via UPS Ground 2-5 days. It's now Jan 21st and no sign of the chips. Multiple e-mails have gone unanswered and no sign of them on their IRC site, live support button and like somebody else said, the phone number listed is being re-directed to another number.

My first order was VERY fast. Got my Xenium in 2 days so I thought I'd try ModWhiz again last week when I wanted a few more items. I ordered 6 days ago and emailed the shipping department for a tracking number 3 days ago. Haven't seen the package or any reply from my email. Kinda sucks when you pay extra for overnight shipping and you can't even get a response from the shipping dept. Hopefully the package will show up soon or at least the shipping dept will let me know if there is hold up.

Ordered a new case and an extra LED on Feb 4th. Paid extra for over night shipping. I've sent 3 or 4 emails asking about the status and haven't had any reply. I've called the number which appears to have been changed. Tried the IRC channel too with no luck. My first order (3 Ice chips) showed up in 2 days. I was amazed at the speed of delivery so I wanted to give them my business again. Looks like that was a bad idea. Hopefully my stuff will show up soon. If not I'll have to go through the hassle of getting the credit card charges reversed. I suggest shopping some where else until ModWhiz can get it together.

Order 619 Update:
After a few more tries I got a hold of someone one using the Live Support feature on their site. Whoever was at the other end straightened out my order and I had it 1.5 days later. I was dismayed by the lack of replies to my email, but I suggest if you have a "sluggish" order to try that. Also, the guys in their IRC channel are friendly and helpful.

Just ordered the S.P. ICE combo from them for another project. These guys are usually very fast...

End of the week of Feb 21st...I ordered my Xodus SP on the 20th. Still no tracking number for my order. I emailed this morning asking if the adapter was going to ship today...no reply. Checked out their online assistance...no one there. Checked out their IRC channel...no replies there either. I just wish they hadn't stated that it would ship this week on their site if they weren't 100% sure on it. dry.gif

These guys really know how to throw the bullshit out there. On monday They say they are processing orders 24 to 48 hours will get tracking from fed ex. Well its 60 hours later they wont reply back to my e mails.Now they say its team Xodus shipping problems . Well BS just say you dont have them yet dont make false statements. Says your shipping now 2 days ago. HMM you dont even have em yet. I checked With all other Of team Xodus Resellers and at leat they are honest and say no we dont have them yet. wtf. Got the xtender and xpfs last week.. Xtender2 is GREAT!!!! 2 wire solder and hook up drives--have it workin with 3 totally different brand/size harddrives....

Got the SPICE chip/adapter and DUOx today!! SPICE looks pure genius!!

this guys suck. Its been 3 weeks since i ordered my xenium apatper and nothign has came. They gave me a trackign # but the package hasnt even been dropped off yet. DONT order from these amatuers.

I am a spiderchip installer, and i now get all my spiderchips from here! so far it's only been about 4 since i switched suppliers, but they are very reliable. it's a great store, although i wish the shipping was a dollar or two less tongue.gif

Ordered a xenium SPICE chip set before they were shipping and I got it about a week-10 days after they said they were shipping, which is ok since I saved a few bucks getting the cheapo shipping.

Would've been nice to get a tracking # and a reply to my email, but considering I got the goods with no problem I guess it worked out.

I put an order in on 3/5/2005. Unfortunately I ordered a sp adapter and an X3ce only to find out they are not compatible (misleading adv by xodus). I sent emails to modwhiz asking to modify my order. I was happy to see them post in the teamxodus forum that they would be taking back the SP adapter and in fact setting aside orders that contained the adapter and a non-compatible chip (like mine). http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=368770&st=0

However they said they would be contacting people on the weekend of the 12th/13th to fix orders. I was never contacted and nobody replied to any of my emails. Recently I have seen statements on their website like 'we recently moved to a new facility' and 'we are having technical problems with our phone lines'. Neither of these statements are making me happy. I have already recieved the credit card bill with this charge on it, but I have yet to recieve my order or even a shipping number. Maybe time to call my credit card company and go with another vendor.

I will post follow ups if the situation warrants.

Order #1076 - for one Xenium S.P. ICE

Ordered on the 6th of March, given a tracking number on the 10th (which was plenty prompt). However that number has only showed "Package data transmitted to Fedex" as the results for the 20 days since then.

According to Fedex that means that only a label was generated and nothing was actually shipped. Two emails since in the last 10 or so days with no response as to whats up.

I'm not usually one to bitch and moan over orders not delivered super fast but I'm running out of patience. Best case scenario it's going to have been right at a full month before I get the thing now even if it ships tomorrow. I'm stopping payment on credit card in the next day or two if I don't hear anything and ordering from someone else.

I agree. Ridiculous lack of contact with customers. I ordered 3/5 (#1065) and I never recieved a tracking number or was contacted in anyway.

I tried to contact them/him for weeks. No reply to emails, phone not working ("techinical difficulties"), even saw him in irc once, but of course he didn't respond. Finally send them email saying cancel my order. The joke is that they offer overnight and 2day shipping...lol. Overnight..a month after you order maybe.

Contacted my Credit card to reverse the charge.

I was told replacement was on its way two weeks ago. I ordered the SP ICE Deal and received a defective adapter (only had 4 wires instead of 5) I sent you pics and was promised replacement.

Well I ordered a Xenium S.P. Ice comba pack one week ago, and still haven't got it. I did the standard 2 -5 day shipping. They charged my credit card twice for one order, but this was resoved via my credit card company. I never got a shipping tracking number, so the hell if I know, it could be at the bottom of the frickin ocean. I tried their "live support chat", but no, everytime it says frickin "sorry, no operator is available" I will try to e-mail them and ask them where the hell my chip is. I've been waiting. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE. THEY FLING SHIT FROM THEIR ASSES AND TURN IT INTO LIES IN THE FORM OF WORDS. Customer contact is horrible, and shipping is slow as hell. Screw these people.

I made an order April 2(on a Saturday). Only recieved a processing order email so far. Emailed them yesterday(April 5) for a tracking number. We'll see how this turns out.

After trying to contact these guys for weeks, they finally responded to one of my cancellation emails. Note this is after I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I don't know if they were contacted by the CC company or not, but coincidentally I finally receive a reply email saying I should see the credit on my statement in 24-48 hours. Here I am (over a month after order) 72 hours later and still no refund on my statement. Go figure.

Really you can't believe anything these people say.

I saw that these guys had some Blue Halo2 LE's in they're premod section, so having recently recieved my tax return, anxiously placed my order on a friday night. Well I damn near had a heart attack when I found this thread while looking for the shop.craxtion thread. Luckily I did recieve my tracking number the following monday and the console tuesday morning. biggrin.gif

The problems I had with the order was that I asked to recieve the console unopened with out a chip installed but left on the side,... it came with the xenium ice installed already. I might have chipped the box myself at some point with the xenium (waiting for skryer) so thats not a big deal to me (although this immediately voided the warranty and ruined any collectors value it might have had). I noticed that they also forgot to package and send the external led and usb adapter that come standard with a xenium ice purchase anywhere. They sell the x-s-or-ease kit on they're site for $10.95, but I shouldn't have to purchase something that was already paid for with the modchip I recieved. grr.gif

I'm guessing from the above reviews that the only reason why I got this delivered promptly at all was because it was a high price item and i payed out the ass for overnight shipping. dry.gif

Well, I placed an order for a premod on Friday, April 8 and got the e-mail confirming the order shortly after. Went to the website on the 9th to check the order and it said it was processed early AM on the 9th. No big deal since working around weekends is always tricky anyway (I think this is what gets alot of webshoppers in trouble, as most shipping is never done on weekends, as is most order processing). I really should have waited until today (Monday) to place the order now that I think about it. Oh well smile.gif

I did send a request for a tracking # via e-mail and am waiting to hear back. I did order overnight so the tracking # is just a way for me to double-verify my order. Hopefully I'll receive the item in the day or 2.

Order #1690 - Premod Xbox w/ Xenium ICE

Well, I placed my order on Friday, April 8 and got the e-mail notification early Saturday the 9th saying the order was processed. I put in the Notes section I wanted a tracking # e-mailed to me when available and I also e-mailed the sales department requesting the same. I've heard nothing in response. I'm fighting with myself to remain positive, but after paying for overnight shipping, $322 isn't cheap by any means. On Friday night, a few hours after I placed the order, I noticed I had a pending charge on my bank account for $322 to ModWhiz. I then checked my statement tonight, the 11th and there is no longer a pending charge nor was the money withdrawn. So, at least I'm not out the money...yet. Still it's disconcerning.

I noticed on the website it says premods take 24-48 hours to ship due to installation and testing. That's fine by me but what they don't tell you is WHEN the installation process begins. I'm going to e-mail the sales department to verify what's going on.

I know some people are having problem with ModWhiz but my order went PERFECTLY. Ordered my Xenium SPICE on 4/11/05 @ 4:00PM, it shipped on 4/12/05, had it at my door 4/13/05 @ 10:30AM. This is the fastest shipping that I have ever seen. I can't comment on anyone else's experiences but mine was very positive.

Still haven't received anything as far as shipping goes. I finally caught ModWhiz in IRC yesterday and he told me the night before they had finished doing the premods and they would ship yesterday. Alas, not a damn thing has happened. He keeps saying in IRC chat he's going to FedEx to drop shipments off but there are still people waiting for orders from about 2-3 weeks ago.

I don't know what to think at this point. Apparantly people are getting their stuff, even if it's a couple weeks wait. But, I didn't pay to wait a few weeks, it says on the website that premods ship in 24-48 hours and I paid for overnight delivery. So, make of that what you will.

To update my other post. I recieved a tracking number shortly after I made that post. It was shipped out April 11 and was supposed to be here on the 15.

According to the FedEx tracking status, it was delivered. Well, it hasn't been. They said they left it on my front doorstep, which is complete b.s. I was home that whole day and never heard a fedex truck or doorbell ring.

Modwhiz.com delivered. FedEx dropped the ball.

Now I'm in the process of fighting FedEx. Modwhiz REALLY needs to change their carrier, I've never had problems with UPS or USPS. Seems like everytime I get something through FedEx, they fork it up.

I live at 45 minutes away from there so I dont think its FedEx that is taking so long to deliver. So I dont know if there is any hope for me to get anything from Them...Im starting to get mad..
