As a follow-up to my previous post. to the best of my knowledge, my money was never refunded by CMS. Instead, my bank did a chargeback on my account pending their investigation.

The lack of a chargeback or any email from CMS explaining when the money would be charged back is unacceptable. I would be VERY wary about ordering from CMS.

As an alternative, check out my review of Modordie.com, who I ordered from once I canceled my order from CMS.

My order # is 338 and I too am a returning customer who is not recieving any emails about any kind of information at all!
I wish i would have waited a week cuz then i would have just modded the xbox myself since i figured out how to do it myself.

I placed my order on July 27 #299 and as of last week had still not gotten my premod xbox. Communication was poor and I needed to send several emails to get a response. I decided to call my bank and have them do a chargeback to my credit card.

If anyone needs any contact information for CMS I have a phone number and mailing address.

If you are considering ordering from them please ask yourself if it is in any way reasonable to place an order and be quoted 5 - 10 business days and get no product more than a month later, with no apology or attempt to make the situation better.

Hard lessons from rapid growth? Maybe, but with customer service like this I do not think that high order volume will be a problem for long. I really hoped that they would come through in the end, but after more than two months I could not wait any longer.

I made my order on aug. 27 for a premodded xbox with a smartxx chip
on aug. 30 my order was upgraded to processing
today is oct. 6th and I still haven't seen my xbox yet quite a while to wait for a xbox under any reasons I emailed this past weekend and no response at all I am giving them till friday to eather have my xbox delivered or my money returned or I will have to sit at the bank and fill out forms to get my money back like I suspect others will that ordered from ** NO THANKS.. SPAM THIS SHIT ELSEWHERE **

Well apparently I recieved my package from CMS but it was delivered back to sender because I was unavailable at the time of delivery. So order #304 was completed. Atleast i'm happy i didn't get ripped off but I wish they could have left the package at the apartment office or something, now I have to wait even longer.

i ordered 2 xboxes 2 months ago..back in early august. of the mulitple times ive emailed i got maybe one reply back about a month ago, saying my order would ship in a week. im really beginning to think ive been ripped off.

im about to do what ive been reading a few on here have done. go and file a complaint through my bank.

ive been in the mod scene for a minute now, and ordered from plenty of places...but ive never had anything like this. spend a few hundred bucks at a shop, and this is how im treated?

could someone at least talk to a customer around here? is that too much to ask? i came on here cause apparently emailing doesnt seem to be enough to get somebody's attention.

I received my Xbox from this company about a week and a half ago. Everything works fine, but the switches for my chip (2.3b Pro) were broken during shipping. John has stated that he does not have the replacement parts. If anyone has an extra set, please contact me.

Everything on the box is working fine. I did have to email CMS several times to receive a response each time I tried to contact them. If they can ever catch up, I believe this will still be a respectable shop.

a week later and no reply to the message? 3 months and nothing has come of this..what is the deal with this shop?

my bank gave me the direct phone number of the gentleman's account where the money has gone, so i kindly called and left a message..no reply to that either. that was a few days ago.

i just want my money back, i can find plenty of other places that would actually send me the product i ordered.

i strongly urge others not to order from this site

I ordered my X-Box over 2 months ago, like in the beginning of August (Aug. 7th) and the money was taken out of my account like 2 days later. I've e-mailed the people at this place like 7 times now. At first they were really good at getting back to me but as of late when I've been e-mailing them I haven't received any responses. I haven't really received any answers but more or less just estimates of when I'm gonna get my X-Box...Last time I actually heard from them they said I would get my X-Box in a week...That was on Sept. 17th...For having my 400$ for over 2 months, I expect A LOT better service then what I've been receiving. All I really want now is my money back, cuz this is just rediculous.

If anyone can get my the number for these guys please e-mail me or something. I really want my money back right now, that's all.

Hello Brothers & Sisters

Order 276 updated to order 308.

Gee where to start. I'll try to make this as short as possible. I sent my Halo Box to John on July 10th then upgraded my order July 26th. Box was shipped AUG. 12th. So at this point I was very excited. But to my dismay DHL delivered the box to the wrong house. We called DHL, at first they acted like we where lying about not receiving the package. So we asked them to come back to the house.

At this point I had to go to a meeting. So my mom waited for DHL. Long story short. The driver admitted he delivered it to the wrong house. To three kids playing basketball in the street. He didn't even get a signature. My mom asked him to go back and try to get it. At this point the driver started flipping out on my mom. Said it's not his problem if she really wants it she can go get it herself. Well his screaming brought the neibors out. and it turned into a big scene.
My mom kept her cool but the driver jumped in the truck and sped of. Mind you my Mom is very ill. Her heart already stopped once not to mention she has no thyroid, almost blind and the list goes on. That was something she really shouldn't be exposed to.

So I emailed john at first he was real cool about it. He said.
"I am shocked. Thats all I can say. I haven't talked to the same person you did, but the person I spoke with said they are working on it. I am supposed to call back tomorrow and find out what is going on.

I will let you know when I know something.

Sorry for the trouble. I can't believe their delivery person would do something like that. What a stupid person!" John

Well to add insult to injury I could see the kids Playing my Box through my back window. So i told John, his response.
"What?!!!! Then call the Police. If DHL admitted they delivered to that house, then the Police can do something about it!!!! Plus that kid that told you they had it. I would give them a call. I am checking with DHL now to find out everything"

So i called the Cops they said they couldn't do anything about the kids but if DHL refuses to make it right They could step in. At this point i really thought DHL was going to make it right cause they said they would do whatever it takes to make me happy.

I emailed John told him what the cops said and gave him my number. He called that night. Assured me I'd end up with an even better XBOX cause he wouldn't charge for labor, Just add more stuff to the box.

At this point John lets me know they're having email problems.
Sep. 7th I get this.
"I do have the Crystal here. I have completed the claim and sent it in....it just arrived the end of last week. As soon as I get a good word from DHL I will ship. I just want to make sure they aren't going to screw me before I ship.

I think that led set up will be fine, but you may want to check out the one you are getting before you decide on the led mods.... ;-) . I think you will like it!

Anyway, I will keep you posted and let you know when the xbox ships."

Wow at this point I'm So freaking happy I could walk on clouds. I was concerned that he thought he might get screwed cause DHL was telling him a different story then me. So I contacted DHL. got ahold of the lady in-charge of claims. Asked her to call John to put his mind at ease, cause I was told they do whatever to make me happy. She called John twice over two day's and could only get his answering machine.

John has more email problems so i start double sending e-mail's to make sure they get through. I over John to send him money to ship. Then reimburse me When he gets the Check. Or ship And I'll cover the difference from DHL if they try to screws us. Either way john you would of not ended up getting Screwed.

John replied with on OCT. 1
"I'm still here. I will have your system shipped out Monday or Tuesday. I will let you know the moment it ships. I will more than likely use UPS. I have had several more problems with DHL and I am very concerned about getting the money for the claim. DHL never spoke to me directly, but did leave 2 voice mails. Sorry for the delays in writing but I have been swamped lately and the latest poor reviews on XS do not help matters at all."

At this point the emotional roller coaster ride was wearing on me and that was just what I wanted to hear.

Well seven Days later and no Shipping confirmation. So i start emailing John one or two emails a day incase of his server being down. 13 days later and no response so i send this.
"Hey brother
For some reason this e-mail is still working.
I've been emailing from my new account.

But have not gotten any responses.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
My mom said i should press charges.
and call DHL and let them know it might be
a scam.

If i don't get a response soon I will be forced
To be an asshole and that's really not what i want to do.
But since I've been bending over backwards to help
and get ignored, lied to and the way things are looking ripped off.

I mean shit man I even offered to send ya a check. I've gotten DHL to call ya.

"Here is the deal. I had second thoughts about filing a false claim with DHL. I filed a real claim for actual cost of the actual item. They are processing the claim according to them. I will send you the check when it arrives. I feel this is the best solution and the most honest.

I have been sending this same reply to your other email also. We have been having allot of trouble with our outgoing email server. It was fixed this past weekend and we are working 100% now.
I know you are pissed about the entire situation, but remember it was not CMS that screwed up. It was DHL. So if you are wanting to "Press Charges" as you stated in another email, make sure you remember that I am covered on my end because the package shows that it was delivered. DHL are the ones that you should be hounding.

I didn't even want to write this cause for some crazy reason I feel for John.
Well if this story touches anyone could they please add "FREE 308" to their Emails to John.
Maybe he'll see the light and we both could be HAPPY.

Just so you know paypal will not refund your money after 30 days so any of you that still are in those 30 days make a CLAIM NOW this guy is a lair and is just saying what you want to here so days will pass untill it is to late just like me. my order number is 296 i ordered in july i still do not have mine so there is no way in hell he will ever get to any of yours. He told me mine shipped but all he does is makes a label from usps.com and never ships. He Will Write Back To some e-mails but that is to just to hold you off. $20 says if you e-mail asking about getting a xbox from him you will get a reply. but if you e-mail asking why your order is not here yet, he just pretends his e-mail dont work. so all i can say to you people that have ordered in the last 30 days from paypal file a claim NOW before he steals your money too. I Think the real Shame is from People who sent him their own Xbox And This Loser Doesnt even Send them back, He Keeps that Along with the money he Stole.

OK.. What is the deal with this store??? I ordered my xbox on august 16th and still haven't received a thing. Now i dont even get responses to my emails to them. I found a number on my credit card that was charged, the number is 864-554-4985, but when i call this number i only receive a voicemail and the person doesn't even say their name or reference to the company. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE!! If I have to wait a little longer its fine, but dammit just let me know and reply to my calls or emails and tell me.....

I shipped my Halo Xbox on July 10th. It was shipped Back to me on Aug. 12th. But was delivered to the wrong house. Witch led to an unbelievable amount of leg work on my part to get sorted out. But Alas the Xbox was never recovered. (All game saves down the Drain) I insured the Xbox when i shipped but John Didn't.

My losses are
175 for Xbox Witch would cost around 300 if i was to go on Ebay to replace the Halo.
75 $ for mod Chip (I ordered with overnight Shipping).
5 $ for ATA 133 Cable
100 $ worth of work from John.
Total loss 355 $ to 555 $

At first John Promised to make the situation right. By replacing the Box. But it's Oct 24. I have no box not even a refund for the hundred I've sent him to do the work. About a month ago he sent me an email saying he was shipping a replacement box. then sent me an email saying he changed his mind. Then Said he would only cut me a check for the amount DHL (shipping company) sends him.

But If he was Really going to do that I would of least got some of the money by now. I'm starting to believe John is a con-artist. Building up a stock pile of Xbox's and only shipping to people who nag. I threatened to press charges. he said he covered his ass on his side so there's nothing i can do. If any one has his number, advice or would like to Mod a box for me. please PM me. Thanks for your time.

Usps redelivered the package to a B B Rikard who I am assuming is related to John. His shipping address is 920 Shiloh rd in Saluda, Sc. Because I am located on a marine base here in South Carolina, I may have to go over to this con artists house who keeps dodging my e-mails. I am a returning customer and this xbox I bought for a friend is pist because he is going on deployment and is out 320 dollars plus an xbox. This person is not trustworthy and does not deserve your business. I ordered the xbox at the end of july and its already the end of October. Personally, you would think that because he is a running a supposedly legitimate business that him keeping everyones money could be considered an act of thievery. If you turned in a tv to a repair shop and never got it back, wouldn't the business be held accountable? Personally, if anyone else wants to, I am willing to throw in on a lawyer to pursue legal action.

I was just conned I believe. I bought a motherboard off of ebay, but this guy has emailed me bonly one time. I am going to file with Paypal due to the problems you people seem to be having. I will go after this guy in every way I can. If you have his telephone number please PM me.

I purchased an xbox motherboard via ebay. I have not gotten a single email about the status of the motherboard. It has been 6 days and I have not heard a word. I have emailed John several times with no response. I will pursue him legally if I do not get my product or money returned! grr.gif

I have to say I'm pretty disappointed in CMS. I don't mind having to wait for my box but I do mind not having any updates whatsover. If the email system is down, he should at least update the main page once and a while. The last update to the main page was over a month ago.

I already requested paper work for a chargeback and if I don't recieve any sort of email from CMS next week, I will fax the request. I guess you shouldn't make decisions based solely on feedback. It's even more bizarre that CMS doesn't have their phone number listed on the main page.

my brother and i have filed an investigation through our bank, as well as our friend who posted here too (ConwayEast). I recommend that everyone else do the same, file a complaint through paypal or your bank. Im not sure how paypal works, but most likely your bank will give you your money back and then deal with CMS through their investigative department.

seeing that some people on here are still waiting for orders as far back as july, i dont think anyone is going to be getting jack from this guy..so do yourself a favor and file a complaint, seems to be the only way to resolve these problems.

I sent him a box that turned out to be unmoddable. He sent it back, and I sent him a different one. At that point in time, I also added a "Custom LED mod" to the order as well. I haven't gotten a response from him recently, so I'm feeling rather screwed. I don't know what kinda shit he's trying to pull, but I don't like it. About a month ago he said he'd have it in the mail "Hell or high water," but I don't see satan, and my place in MN isn't flooding, so I don't know what's going on. That was the last I heard from him. I'm thinking road trip, anyone else?

I finally have been contacted by John. He said there was some family problems he had to deal with, but should be getting orders out soon. I guess we will see what happens.

It's too bad to see a shop that had such good ratings go downhill so quickly. I placed an order (#295) for a premod with CMS in July after reading a ton of positive feedback here. I had expected that things would take a few weeks, so I didn't bother them with questions about status and such. However, the delat turned into a month, and then almost two. Emails were only sporadically replied to, with claims that thei rmailserver was acting up. Still, the lack of any sort of status updates from a shop are very disconcerting. After 2 months, little feedback, and no XBox, I initiated a chargeback with my credit card company, which appears to have been successful.

I then placed an order with BMMods and had a box in a week - a whole different level of customer support there. So, my advice? CMS may be good again once they get their act together, but for now, it's a risky thing to do business with them. The feedback here shows what you may wind up getting yourself into..

Well I don't know if you guys noticed, but I tried to go to the CMS website today and the hosting company took it down. I hope some of you got your money and or xboxes back from John.

Yes, it appears that CarolinModServices is down for the count. A friend of mine had ordered an XBox from them a couple of months ago. It took a while for him to get a response from them when his order was not shipped. But he did finally get a response from John, and John did refund all of his money. Be patient and hopefully you will be refunded as well. I hate to see them go down, because I got two XBoxes from John and they are the BOMB. Working great with XBox Live. Xecuter 2.3b Pro, 200 gig HD, and able to switch between Avalaunch and Evox. Great units. beerchug.gif
