I recently ordered from tribes mod 12/23/2003 I received an email confirmation from the site within 2 minutes and a paypal confirmation another 2 minutes later. They then emailed me notifying me that my order has been shipped and **should** be at my home by Friday today is Tuesday. Will post any further news.
**update** It is now Friday.... really didn't expect the delivery to be in with Christmas and all, maybe on Monday at best.
**update2** It is now Tuesday 12/30/2003 the chips are not in yet
**update3** The chips came in today ( friday )... They were sent a long time ago but my stupid school refused to give mail due to no workers to get out the mail (should have been here during my first post) ,........... hate this fu*king school.

wooohoo my package arrived today, perfectly bubble wrapped and worked like a charm!! my xbox case is ALOT cooler now since the PC power supply fan is sucking out the heat from the power supply also... will be back with a link on my review of this product in the Xbox Case/Hardware modding forum.. there was a slight problem with postal service on my order so canadian buyers give them a extra week for shipping... it will come ..

Well I live in the U.K. and wanted to get an "Apache 1.3 Plus" for my v1.1 XBOX so I can do a PC case MOD without all that ATX PSU hassle...
But I thought "Nah, the postage will be HUGE from the USA!"
I emailed Tribemods and they reassured me that the postage was just over $5!
I ordered the chip and it shipped the same day!
GREAT STUFF!

I've ordered a bunch of chips and a couple oem cases from them and they are great. Response time is awesome for both purchases and requests for help, I'll definitely be buying from them again.
The fact that they have local p/u in Chicagoland makes them that much better.

In December I purchased a 2.2pro from these guys, and the response was beyond fast. I had the chip in no time. When I rec'd the chip, it wasn't working for me, and I had concerns that it could've been part of that funky batch that was flying around.
They were quick and responsive in their troubleshooting with me, and were open to taking the chip back when I wasn't getting anywhere.
I sent the chip back to tribe mods and they were able to get it working after some troubleshooting. They sent it back to me, and unfortunately it got sucked up in the fedex system somewhere, never showing at my doorstep.
These guys were quick to work with me and get me a 2.3b pro without any hassle on my part to replace the lost chip.
This is probably my fourth xbox I've done, and the first time I've purchased from Tribemods(have been buying from system-mods). So long as they're around I'll keep coming back. They're the first group that I've rec'd actual responses from human beings to my emails/requests, and after my last fiasco with that 2.2pro, they've got my loyalty.
Excellent experience all the way around. Thanks guys!

I ordered a 1.2-1.5 PSU from them. Had a real quick response to email and they responded really fast to emails. I received the PSU within 5 mailing days which is pretty good from Illinois to Cali. I just ordered an apache 2.0 this morning and am awaiting on it. I will be more than happy to keep my business going to them.

I recently bought from tribemods.com , have nothing but kind words to say. Order number was 2004044 , and I ordered their Apache v2.0 power converter.
Order arrived pretty quickly (was out of stock a couple of days), but was perfect when it got here. They were even there for me with a little tech support on their product, I had some video problems when using it at first.
Looks like that problem was my fault somehow though. In the end I disconnected everything, reconnected, and I'm stylin in my great PC case mod.

Ordered the Apache and received it within a few days only to blow up my modchip when moving it from XBOX case to the PC case. Went back to tribemods and ordered pre-modded xbox. Received XBOX within 3 business days. Excellent service!
Order #20040055 and 20040057 respectively.

Ordered the new conversion kit with Apache & cable extensions. it beats doing a bad splice job on my own. The order went through pretty quick.
Service was great, and there was always a prompt response to my questions, comments, etc. couldn't do my xbox pc if Tribemods wasn't around.
here's my finished pc case
http://www.geocities.com/mulderfx101422/xbox/The Apache is working great, haven't had a problem and it's a must-have for a PC case conversion

I have done many transactions with mod and aftermarket retailers on the web. I am posting this message because tribemods, is by far the best I have ever delt with. There customer service goes above and beyond what i expected. They reply very quickly to all inquiries and they always address all aspects of my questions. I gotta give these guys props, they will always get my business as well as any of my friends.

order # 20040107
I ordered a custom case installation from these guys, and they did an excellent job. They went out of their way to use my employee discount at fedex to save on shipping, even though it was a hassle for them.
I was, however, due a $30 refund I never recieved. Last I heard from them (5/06/2003), they were relocating their office and appologized for the delay, but no further emails since.
Thirty dollars isn't a very big deal, and aside from that small issue, these guys are great. I would still recommend them to anyone interrested in a Xbox-PC conversion.

Good company. Got a apache 1.x around XMAS time and it worked great. I lost my install digrams and installed it again on a new box today and I emailed them for help. The helped out a lot. Great customer service and a good product. Good value if your not good a making your own converter and not too expensive either.
A thumbs up from me!

I just wanted to say that when the chips were down (and the solder was everywhere), Tribemods picked up where I left off. They cleaned up my modchip installation up and made me very happy. They've always been very helpful and have answered all my questions. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to get more out of their Xbox!
thanks guys-

I placed an order monday evening. I have not received any confirmation on it but the printout I have that shows the billed ammount, I have sent 2 e-mails asking for confirmation from 2 different e-mail addresses. (thinking it might be a spam filtering problem on one of out sides)
I have heard nothing back from them. It appears they make good products, if they are out of town/office they could have at least put an auto-responder on their support e-mail addresses.
So far I'm not impressed.

Hopefully they'll get back to me....

Well it's monday and it's still not here. I did get a e-mail response last thursday to my work address. So if you send them an e-mail you might have to wait 3-4 days and you'll eventually get a response. They said it had already shipped, so I should be getting it VERY soon.
It shouldn't take more than 2-3 days to get a package that size to Kansas from Illinois; even at the cheapest rate.
:dunno:
I hope it shows up this week...

I'll post when it shows up. If it makes it by tomorrow it'll be a 7 day (including weekend) turn around time which is totally acceptable.

Sorry to keep whoring this thread up, but I received two e-mail responses from tribemods yesterday!
They were unsure of why the 1st unit didn't arrive. So they shipped another one and sent me a tracking number (bare in mind I didn't have a tracking number for the 1st time they shipped to me).
They really seemed to care about the issues I was having and did their best to correct it. I would recommend these guys, but I would definetly be patient and do follow-up if you need too.
So besides the slow e-mail contact they seem to be good.
Hopefully the unit shows up in the next couple of days!
